Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2025
1. Introduction
MilesReach ("we," "our," or "us") operates a creator media kit and performance data platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services, including when you create an account, connect your social or video platforms, build your media kit, or interact with brands through our platform. Please read this policy carefully.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information we obtain when you connect third-party platforms or use our services.
- Account and profile data: Name, email address, display name, profile and banner images, short and extended bio, headline, niche, languages, location, years active, team size, content tone, content pillars, industries preferred or avoided, and similar profile information you add to your media kit.
- Platform connection data: When you connect accounts (e.g. Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn), we may receive and store platform identifiers, handles, profile URLs, follower/subscriber counts, engagement metrics, audience demographics (e.g. age, gender, geography), content performance data (views, likes, comments, shares), and historical or time-series metrics as made available by the platform or our integrations.
- Commercial and campaign data: Rate cards, package options, campaign details, brand collaborations, compensation, results, and testimonials you choose to add.
- Usage and technical data: How you use our site and services (e.g. pages visited, media kit views, time on page, CTA clicks, inquiry submissions), device and browser information, IP address, and log data.
- Communications: Emails or messages you send us (e.g. support or early-access requests).
3. Information We Receive from Meta Platforms (Facebook & Instagram)
When you connect your Facebook or Instagram account to MilesReach, we receive certain data from Meta in accordance with the permissions you grant. This section describes that data and how we handle it.
Types of data accessed
- Profile and account information: Public profile fields (e.g. username, profile picture URL, biography), account type, and verification status.
- Insights and metrics: Follower count, reach, impressions, engagement metrics (likes, comments, saves, shares), and similar performance data made available through Meta's APIs (e.g. Instagram Graph API, Facebook Graph API) for the purposes you authorize.
- Content and media metadata: When permitted, we may access metadata about your posts (e.g. type, timestamp, caption length) and aggregate or per-post performance (e.g. views, engagement) to populate your media kit and analytics. We do not access the content of private messages.
- Audience insights: Where provided by the platform, aggregated demographic or geographic data (e.g. age range, gender, top locations). This data is used only for analytics and creator insights (e.g. to help you understand and describe your audience in your media kit); we do not use it for advertising or any other purpose.
How it is used
Data we receive from Meta is used only in connection with your creator media kit. We display it solely within your media kit—to you in your dashboard and, when you choose, to brands or the marketplace when they view your media kit for discovery and collaboration. We use it to build and maintain your profile, show your performance metrics, update your stats and growth over time, and generate analytics and insights for you. We do not use this data for any purpose outside your media kit.
We do not use Meta data for advertising
We do not use information from Meta (Facebook or Instagram) for advertising—including on Meta, on our own site, or elsewhere. We do not use it to target ads to you or to anyone else, or for any advertising-related purpose.
Demographic data: analytics and creator insights only
Any demographic or audience data we receive from Meta (e.g. age range, gender, geography) is used only for analytics and creator insights—such as helping you understand your audience and present it in your media kit. We do not use demographic data for advertising, selling, or any purpose other than supporting your media kit and your use of our platform.
We do not sell your data; no cross-app targeting; no data brokers
We are explicit about the following:
- We do not sell user data. We do not sell your personal information or data we receive from Meta (Facebook or Instagram) or any other platform to third parties.
- We do not use it for cross-app ad targeting. We do not use your data to target ads to you across other apps, sites, or services, or for any cross-app advertising purpose.
- We do not share it with data brokers. We do not share your data with data brokers or other parties that buy, sell, or trade personal data for advertising or other purposes.
We use this data only as described in this policy and to provide the Service to you.
Storage, messages, permissions, and access tokens
- We store only aggregated insights. We store only aggregated or summarized insights and metrics (e.g. follower counts, engagement rates, demographic summaries) that we need to display your media kit and analytics. We do not store raw or granular content beyond what is necessary for the features you use.
- We do not store private messages. We do not access, read, or store your private messages (e.g. Instagram DMs or Facebook Messenger). Private messaging is out of scope for our Service.
- We do not access content beyond authorized permissions. We access only the data that you authorize when you connect your account and that Meta's APIs make available for that purpose. We do not access content or data beyond the permissions you grant.
- Access tokens are securely stored and revoked upon disconnection. Tokens we use to access Meta on your behalf are stored securely. When you disconnect your Facebook or Instagram account from MilesReach, we revoke and stop using those tokens, and we no longer have access to your account.
Deletion upon disconnection
When you disconnect your Facebook or Instagram account from MilesReach, we stop receiving new data from Meta. We delete or anonymize the Meta-sourced data we have stored (e.g. profile fields, insights, and metrics previously pulled from your account) within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. You can disconnect at any time through your account settings or by revoking MilesReach's access in your Meta account permissions.
Compliance with Meta Platform Terms
Our use of data received from Meta is subject to the Meta Platform Terms, the Meta Developer Policies, and any applicable product terms (e.g. Instagram Platform Terms). We access only the data necessary for the features you use and in accordance with the permissions you grant and Meta's then-current policies.
